SOBRE EL TALLER

Located in Corticeira, the Factory became obsolete and taken to la Quinta do Arco de Prado in Santa Marina, Vila Nova de Gaia on the left bank of the river.

It specialized in tableware for bourgeois households with inspiration from rococo models. It also painted tiles and large slabs in the Portuguese tile fashion.

SOBRE LA FÁBRICA

Since it moved in 1923 the factory adopted the latest technologies from Germany becoming one of the most cutting edge factories in the city. With this machinery, production of sanitary objects and tiles began. It reached such a large volume of production, that in 1930 the Lisbon Factory of Louça de Sacavem became a joint shareholder, raising working standards.

In 1965 the Pinto de Freitas brothers bought the Sacavem shareholdings, eventually bringing it to a total close in the 70´s.

Apartamento Carvalhino

The large windows of this semi-interior holiday apartment look out over the interior courtyard that is enlivened by the garden and the sound of the water playing in the fountain, while a series of high windows capture the morning light from Rua de Entre Quintas. This holiday apartment has a spacious living room with a workstation and a kitchenette. Being on the ground floor and facing the courtyard gardens, means that though this may not be the most illuminated apartment in the building, it does mean that it is one of the most peaceful. The wooden floor provides warmth and comfort.
