SOBRE EL TALLER
Founded in 1865 by Antonio Almeida e Costa, the Quinta das Devesas in Gaia is next to the railway station. It was a state-of-the-art factory with cutting edge technology and machinery. Concerned about the training of its personnel, the Industrial Design School of Gaia was established in one of its buildings.
SOBRE LA FÁBRICA
Devesas was one of the factories with the largest range of products, producing ceramics for construction, tableware, tiles, and decorative goods for homes and gardens like its famous statuary. In 1910 it published a catalogue of its products which would become a reference in the market.
In 1920 it stopped producing tiles and decorative croquery to exclusively produce construction material.
